Here we are!

By marxplor

Welcome to the Xplor MidAtlantic Region’s blog!  Xplor is a worldwide association of users and suppliers of the products and services that create, modify, and deliver customized information using a variety of document technologies.  We provide networking, education, and information to help you and your business keep up with technology trends.

We just had our annual fall conference in Ocean City, MD.  There were a number of presentations on hot topics such as disaster recovery, profitable sales activities, the internet as a business tool, mail hygeine, personal coaching, an industry technology update, growing your business through business development initiatives and . . . blogging.  That’s how this came about.  We were all made aware of the importance of multiple forms of media in communicating with our members and potential members.  The same is true in your business.

If you attended our conference, we hope you will share your experience on this blog.  If you were not there, we hope this provides you a glimpse of what you missed.  In any case, we hope this blog becomes a communications tool for you to get information or share information we all can use.

More to follow!

  2. Skip Henk Says:

Great meeting … thank you to all the speakers for sharing and for the vendor sponsor support.

  3. Bob Moffitt Says:

I was quite impressed with Ron Stott’s (Mail+Gard) revelations about document receovery programs in the event of catastrophies. The other speakers on the same were very informative, too. I’d had no idea about such a sizable opportunity and challenge. Beyond that Xplor’s plans to get into colleges, and smaller geographic chapters was exciting. Printing associations are not nearly so imaginative it seems.

  4. Wilma Grant Says:

An enthusiastic group of attendees, exhibitors & sponsors showed up at The Grand Hotel, Ocean City, MD for the Fall Mid-Atlantic Xplor regional conference. Several long-term vendor supporters and new speakers heightened attendee awareness & interest in entrepreneurial ways to communicate, including blogging. Disaster Recovery for PRINT speakers and a DR vendor/user panel added value reinforcing the need to prepare for such emergencies, with “tested” plans in place. Xplor Document University announcements excited all.

  5. Bob (Bubba) Wert Says:

The conference in Ocean City was great! Ron Stott’s presentation on disaster recovery, the DR panel, Bob Moffit’s presentation on Higher Payoff Sales, Peter Muir’s presentation about Growing Your Business and Tom Bridge’s presentation about Blogging, were excellent. I truly enjoyed the conference and the educational value it provided.

    Hi all,

I would like to comment on the Xplor International conference that was this past weekend. It was great to see everyone in Sunny Miami. Congratulations to Wilma Grant of The Supreme Court. She was honored at the very start of all the excitment and honored as the new ABOD Chair!!

What wonderful speakers, Peter Muir of Bizucate was excellent. He really got the room talking and suggested some great books and an awesome website that everyone should take advantage of, http://www.constantcontact.com. It is an excellent marketing email site that is awesome for any sales/tech professional.

Another great speaker set was the Kodak team, including Mark Wilton of CIP4. They spoke about the JDF system and Prinergy. They are working hard to automate, automate, automate. It is great stuff and is really cutting edge.

All of the attendees were buzzing about the great array of speakers!!

If you were there, I am sure you met our new MAR webmaster Matthew Bundrick of Clemson University’s Graphic Communications Program. He was a pleasure to spend time with and was a great networker. He is a shining star that has taken advantage of and is giving back to the region and the industry. It is great to see Xplor help offer students like Matt tis great opportunity!!

Thank you to all the host vendors, XDU, Pittney Bowes, Kodak and GOA! Such a great time to see all of our friends from Exstream, Kodak, Post e Digital, Our French friend Jean Louis and of course all of the wonderful people from Iceland. You all made the conference a special time to remember.

Have a wonderful evening; Can’t wait until MARs meeting in the fall!!
